Spotlight on… Lloyd Whiting, Case Manager

Meet Assetz Capital Case Manager – Lloyd Whiting

How long have you been at Assetz and how did you get into business lending?

I started at Assetz Capital back in January 2019, which is also when my career in Business Lending began.

My first position was in the Lender Team, which was essentially dealing with the funds coming into the business which would subsequently be lent out. Just under a year later I applied for a position on the Relationship Support Team (RST) as a Relationship Support Assistant. Fortunately, I was successful and moved across to assist the RST team (now known as The Operations Team) with loan processing/underwriting. A couple of years later after a lot of support from the Team, I was promoted to Relationship Support Manager.

I eventually transitioned into the role of Case Manager, which is my current position.

What does a normal day look like in your role?

As a Case Manager my job is to work with the Borrowers, Relationship Directors, Credit Managers and various third parties to get a case from Decision In Principle (DIP) all the way through to completion. No day is ever the same, which is what I like about what I do. The main priority is to complete deals as efficiently as possible.

What’s the best thing about working at Assetz Capital and working in lending?

The most rewarding aspect of working in Business Lending is the constant challenge it presents, offering endless opportunities for learning and growth. It keeps you consistently outside your comfort zone, which I believe is the ideal place to be. Additionally, the industry offers a variety of career paths to explore.

The thing I like most about working at Assetz Capital would firstly be the people. I have a lot of experienced colleagues around the business, that are always happy to share their knowledge with you. Secondly, you also have the option to get involved in things that don’t normally fit into your ‘normal’ day-to-day. You are never stuck doing the same job, which I think is great for personal development.

What’s your favourite activity outside of work?

I love going to anything that has live music, and I am currently ‘attempting’ to get into golf. Although I need to work on my drive!
